PAINFULLY OBVIOUS CONCLUSION

Over the years, I’ve learned a painfully obvious conclusion – and this is after God and the people who love me were speaking to me the whole time. What I’ve learned, and maybe you can relate, is that when I try to make things happen on my own, my accomplishments end up being nothing more than insignificant.

Tip and fact: Self made people don’t make much of an impact.

If you want to be a great leader and make an impact while you’re here – for the short time that we are, be sure to surround yourself with amazing people who lift you up and help you be successful. You could be the most talented person in the world, however without the help of others your success is limited.

Whatever you believe, your influence springs from an awareness of your dependence and a willingness to express thanks to those who help you rise up and do great things.

For me, my visions are much larger than my ability, which leaves me two options: give up or go find help – I choose to go find help and go after my visions. More and more each day, I learn how important and thankful I am to have such amazing people in my life that allow me to do incredible things. And without these people I would be nothing. For this I thank all of these people for helping make my dreams a reality.

TIPS TO UP YOUR SALES GAME

Are you trying to up your sales game and start ringing the cash register?

Here’s a few tips I’ve learned over the years.

According to a 2002 Harvard study, great salespeople have the following in common: They do not take “no” personally, they take responsibility for their results, they are empathetic, they are ambitious, they are very goal-oriented, and they find it easy to approach strangers.

Here are a few other tips on what it takes to be a great sales person:

The harder you try, the worse you’re going to do. The harder you try, prospects sniff out the desperation. Just back off a bit and let them be more intrigued with what you have to offer.

Don’t try to close the deal on the first date. Build rapport with prospects. Once they trust and like you, it’s all downhill from there. How do you build rapport? Listen, learn, and don’t put your needs first.

Your job is to help the customer get what he or she wants, not sell them what you want.

Always be listening for clues. People interpret information in different ways. Some people are visual, others are auditory, and yet others are primarily kinesthetic (feelings).

No doesn’t always mean no, it might mean many things – you just have to take the time to figure it out.

Think about the last meeting you were sitting in. What happened? Did you doze off into dreamy land? Did you pretty much fall asleep? Let’s be honest, most meetings suck. You have probably read the book, “Death by meeting“. I can’t tell you how many times I have felt this way. Meetings can be killer.

However, can we all agree that there are meetings that are important and valuable, and it is us who make them valuable?

CAN WEEKLY BLOGGING PLANS WORK?

This week, as I was traveling and running all over the country I thought, “What would it look like if I took time every week to take my random thoughts, ideas, notes, prayers, and everything else I write down in my journal every week, and build a weekly blogging plan?” Would this help put some structure and balance into my life? Would this help when I was struggling to come up with something to write about?

I was already filling my journal with stuff all week, why not put that stuff to good use? I didn’t want to lose the realness and get to agenda like. But, I did want to make sure all the stuff I was journaling was getting applied and used. A battle went on in my head. Should I build a plan? Should I not build a plan? It went on and on for hours. Then, I thought, “Lets let the journal decide”.
