THE SMARTER WAY TO TWEET, SERIOUSLY!

Are you a Buffer fan?

I don’t know if you’ve heard of it or not, but one of my favorite, if not thee favorite Twitter tool out there is Buffer. Buffer is a very easy-to-use, beautiful service that allows you to quickly lineup several tweets at one time – then they are sent out one at a time based on a schedule you setup. Oh, and they are about to release it for Facebook too.

THE POWER OF A TECH HOLIDAY

Are you taking a tech holiday, because if you’re not you’re just setting yourself up for burnout.

Tweet, post, blog…..what the hell are we doing? Getting the message out right? It is important to get the message out, connect with people, have great conversation, and build your brand or brands, but when it starts to have an effect on your well-being, you better get it in check and take a holiday away from it.

SIX BENEFITS TO WEEKLY ACTION PLANNING AND REVIEW

Do your weeks ever just feel out of whack? Things keep popping up, people are asking to meet with you, and you feel like you can’t get anything done? Don’t feel bad if this is you, lots of people suffer from this. I like to call these weeks “dysfunctional weeks” – weeks where things aren’t operating as they should.

How should your weeks be operating? How about smooth, productive, and healthy? Think of it like a car, if your car is not operating as it should what do you do? You take the time to bring it into the shop to get fixed right? Now if your “week” is not operating as it should, shouldn’t you take the time to bring that into the shop to get fixed as well?

STAY ORGANIZED, CAPTURE TASKS, AND GET STUFF DONE WITH ACTION METHOD

Are you having trouble capturing tasks, getting organized, collaborating, and ultimately getting stuff done? Why are you having these problems? Is it you or have you just not found the right tool yet?

About 9 months ago I was having these problems and I couldn’t figure it out. I was pissed off, I had five or six tools all doing different things, and I had notes and papers all over my office causing it to look like a train wreck. I was a total mess and I was not ok with it.

GET IN. GET OUT. GET ON WITH IT.

Do you totally dislike meetings and often wonder why in the world meetings take so long? How many people would you say feel the exact same way as you? Do you think as high as 90%? I would bet the percentage is at least that, maybe higher.

Oh the days of sitting in long corporate meetings. I dread those days. What I dread even more is leading those meetings? What a drainer that was! I would look up from your notes and all I would see was either people passed out or people intensely watching the clock.

MY 6 STEP PROCESS TO DETERMINE IF THE TIMING IS RIGHT

Is the timing right? I don’t know, you will have to ask yourself this question.

Timing is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself before jumping into anything in your life. Whether it be a marriage, kids, new career, starting a business, or making a move, it really doesn’t matter, just make sure you ask the question. You will be amazed at what you can learn when you actually take the time to ask the question.

LOOK, LISTEN, ASK QUESTIONS

Think about the last meeting you were sitting in. What happened? Did you doze off into dreamy land? Did you pretty much fall asleep? Let’s be honest, most meetings suck. You have probably read the book, “Death by meeting“. I can’t tell you how many times I have felt this way. Meetings can be killer.

However, can we all agree that there are meetings that are important and valuable, and it is us who make them valuable?

MIGHT IT BE TIME TO K-I-S-S?

I remember being in class when my professor wrote on the whiteboard K-I-S-S. Next to it, he wrote, keep it simple stupid. Keep it simple stupid? What does that mean? I thought, “Who was he calling stupid?”

I had no idea where he was going with this. He started to explain by saying, “life is already messy, why make it more messy”? He said, ” You want the truth? We like to make things much harder than they really need to be. All the ridiculous messes and crap in our lives, guess who created it, we did”.
