Every mind needs a little down time. When is the last time you gave your mind some down time or even idle time? Our minds never shut off, and if we keep them red lined they eventually go wacky on us. I can speak from personal experience.
As ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) as we all are these days, there is a need to focus on one task and slow our minds down. How many things are you doing right now? How many windows and tabs do you have open as you read this? My point exactly.
Dad. Father. Pops. I don’t care what you call him, today we take the time to celebrate him. Every year we pause to celebrate and honor our fathers for their hard work, dedication, and influence on our lives and society.
It is because of our fathers that we are who we are today. For good or for bad, it is because of our fathers impact on our lives.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American lecturer and poet wrote about individuality, freedom, and the ability for one to realize almost anything. Realize almost anything? How about realizing that, “Every artist was at first an amateur”? Emerson actually said this in one of his lectures.

I feel like we are living in this time where everyone wants to be an artist, but know one wants to be an amateur. What’s up with that? What has happened to hard work, dedication, and perseverance? Have people turned into a bunch of sissies expecting everything is going to fall in their laps without some hardwork?
Just in case you happened to miss them, here are my top 10 posts for May 2011. It was an awesome month for me! With several several speaking engagements at high schools, universities, and companies I am energized and ready for the month of June. How about you?
Did you run the Fifth Third River Bank Run?
This year was my 5th time running the Fifth Third River Bank Run. After only training for a few months, I decided I would step it up and make the commitment to run the race. I actually needed it too!
Both my sisters and my brother in law also decided to run this year. It was one great big family standing there in the rain waiting to take off. It was awesome! As we waited I was pumping them up, cracking jokes, and cheering them on. I was so proud and thankful to have them there with me.
What are you doing for Mothers day? I will be celebrating my mom. I think we are actually going to the Chinese buffet after church. I guess we will have to see how that works out. This was at least the plan. I love mothers day because it’s a time to celebrate our moms. Without our moms influence, nurturing, and unconditional love where would we be today.
To honor our moms and my mom I put together a list of 8 reasons why my mom is awesome. Please add your thoughts in the comments section below. I would love to hear why your mom is so awesome.
I hope that everyone had a great April! It was a wonderful and busy month for me. In case you happened to miss them, here are my top ten posts for April 2011.
I hope everyone had a very blessed week. I know its tough out there, and things seem to be getting worse. All I can say is keep the faith, stay positive, and all will work out in time – I promise. If you’re feeling down, pick yourself up, put on a smile, and let’s try and have a awesome week!
I’m really looking forward to a week filled with greatness! Lots of interesting blogs coming up.
Let’s just say my week started out real bad. Doors were being closed, I was getting angry emails, and I felt frustrated, lost, and angry. Things that I had poured so much time and energy in, weren’t turing out as planned. At first I brushed it off, later it hit me and I broke down.
Why God? What are you doing? These became my questions throughout the week. Even though I was angry, I could also sense him doing something in me. As I prayed and fasted this week, I could see something even more beautiful playing out. I had no idea what it was, I could just feel it.
