Are you an entrepreneur or do you aspire to be an entrepreneur? Do you have that raging itch that keeps you up all night to quit your job and go out on your own? If this is you, I say make the leap and quit that boring job – I bet it is holding you back anyways.
I have no idea where you’re at or what is going on in your head now, but just maybe you are wondering what entrepreneurship is like and what you’re going to need to be able to do to succeed.
The last few weeks, I’ve racked my brain with thoughts about entrepreneurship and what it’s like being an entrepreneur. After getting asked at least 3-4 times a week about what it’s like being an entrepreneur, I decided I would come up with a creative answer that I thought was very fitting.
Here it is. The next time when someone asks me, “So what is entrepreneurship like?” I will be responding with, “Entrepreneurship is like jumping off a cliff and trying to build an airplane before you hit the ground.” Sound like something you would be interested in?” I can’t wait to see people’s faces when I respond to their question with this!
Chew on it for a minute. How is entrepreneurship not like this? It’s a huge risk, it takes serious guts to jump, and there’s no guarantee that you will get that plane put together before you hit the ground.
Regardless of the risk and the potential of hitting the ground, I have to say that there isn’t anything in the world that I would rather be doing. How about you? Are you ready to jump of cliffs and try building planes on the way down? If you’re ready, I say Go for it! Quit that ridiculous job and start pursuing one of those ideas that keep you up all night!
Is it your time to start jumping of cliffs and trying to build airplanes before you hit the ground?
