Who doesn’t love attention right? That’s one of the reasons you use social media because you crave the attention that you get. Be honest, don’t lie, you eat it up; every like, comment, post, tag, mention, RT, you soak it right up.

I will be honest, it makes me feel good and I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. Yes, you can take it way to far and it can affect your life, yet well-managed it is a very good thing for people – especially those who don’t get attention outside of social media. There are these people, they are the ones you don’t pay any attention to.

Whatever your beliefs, people today are using social media for the attention and there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, there are millions of people feeling the love out there because of social media and these digital networks that drive the love. What a blessing I think!

Try and give me one person who doesn’t like some sort of attention. You might not be an attention whore, although I would bet that you desire some form of attention and when you don’t get it you start kicking and screaming until you do.

Giving attention on social media is super simple. It is as easy as responding to a follow on twitter or a post on a blog, or friends on Facebook. Simple. To the point. And when attention is given to someone beyond “hello”, it creates potential conversation that can lead to new and exciting opportunities. And if you are at all intelligent, then you understand that conversation is critical on social media.

Don’t be a moron and think that people don’t like the attention that they get on social media. If you want to win friends and influence people then you better start taking the time to give people attention they deserve. It will come back to you ten fold and it might even change your life. Try it.

Are you taking the time to give people the attention they deserve? Do you realize the importance of this?
